Michel Pieters was graduated as a violinist by the Royal Music Conservatory in Brussels (Belgium) and the Brabant Conservatory in Tilburg (the Netherlands). His musical career continued to develop in chamber music groups and symphonic orchestras in Belgium, the Netherlands and Taiwan. He also performed for many years with the French chansonnier William Sheller, contributed as violinist and/or arranger to theatre and film productions and worked with his own jazz bands. Michel Pieters has played concerts throughout Europe, Canada, Taiwan and China.
He worked as a composer/arranger for New Arts Management (Taiwan), the Taiwan String Quartet, the Flemish folk artist Miel Cools, and many others. His music has been performed in several European countries, including the Vatican and Russia (the Moscow Conservatory), and also in the Far East, the USA and Costa Rica. He returned to Belgium after having taught violin for several years at the Chinese Culture University and the Kuang Jen High School Music Department (Taiwan). He now gives private violin lessons and works as a freelance musician. He also obtained a Master’s degree in biology from the university of Ghent (Belgium).
