Guy Cuyvers studied at the Royal Flemish Music Conservatory in Antwerp and at the American University in Washington, D.C. Throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s, Guy Cuyvers not only composed music, but also wrote many arrangements for guitar and guitar duos. In 1996, he published his first CD, Cadence, which includes many of his arrangements for guitar. A year later, a book with CD, entitled Pablo’s Friends, was published, containing the artist’s own compositions for guitar.
His career as a film score composer began in 1995. In a few years time, he had recorded 3 CDs with symphonic film scores.
Guy Cuyvers is a lecturer in the music department of the Mortsel academy, where he is also head coordinator. In 2003, he worked as composer and arranger for Jo Lemaire. In that same year, he founded Lunes, an acoustic quartet which mainly plays a Mediterranean repertoire. The band’s first CD came out in 2005.
