Stef Minnebo

Stef Minnebo (1958) took his first musical steps at the State Music Academy of Antwerp, where he followed his first general lessons in music and guitar.

Subsequently, he attended the Royal Flemish Music Conservatory of Antwerp, where he studied jazz and light music among other genres, and was awarded the first prize for guitar. He also obtained his teacher’s degree there.

He perfected his skills in jazz, guitar, arranging and composition in classes with names such as Peter Verbraken and Freddy Sunder.

Stef Minnebos currently works as a teacher of guitar, electric guitar, ensemble and light music at MAGO in Antwerp and at the music academy of Heist-op-den-Berg, where he is also the co-ordinator of the Jazz and Light Music department.

Since October 1999, he has been a guest lecturer for “Arranging and Composition” at the Antwerp Academy (department for Musical Education).

He is also the co-ordinator of the annual Jazz and Light Music summer school in Dworp, in cooperation with the Youth and Music organisation.

In addition, he also plays guitar and arranges in the big band “The North Side Music Club”.

As an arranger and guitarist, he has worked together with several Flemish artists from the world of showbiz.

As a composer, he has written countless works for a variety of formations, including guitar, choir, youth ensembles, wind orchestras and symphony orchestras, as well as pop and jazz numbers.
